A page for our club in the October issue of Rotary News magazine. Kudos to the Rotary Club of Lake District Moinabad.
A proud moment for the club
The October 2026 issue of Rotary News carries a feature titled “A fun auction for TRF”, written by Rasheeda Bhagat. It recalls one of the most enjoyable moments of Rotary International President Yinka Babalola’s recent visit to Hyderabad, at an event held in support of The Rotary Foundation (TRF).
What happened at the event
During the evening, the RI President offered his hand-embroidered red cap, which carries the Rotary logo and the presidential theme “Create Lasting Impact”, to any Rotarian in the hall willing to bid for it, with the proceeds going to The Rotary Foundation. What followed was a lively and good-humoured bidding contest among Rotarians of RI District 3150, with the bids rising quickly into tens of thousands of dollars, all for the Foundation’s humanitarian work.
The photograph published with the article captures the moment the President placed his cap on Sunali Saluja, as senior Rotary leaders cheered on.
Why it matters
Every rupee and dollar raised for The Rotary Foundation goes into projects that change lives: clean water, education, health and community development. Seeing the Rotary Club of Lake District Moinabad recognised on a national platform is an encouragement to every member who gives time and effort to that work.
Our thanks to Rotary News for the coverage, and congratulations to everyone in the club and the district who made the evening such a success.
You can see more of the club’s work in the Rotary Club section and the gallery.
